Exploring into Saidpur Village, I stumbled upon these two kids ,,, cooking on an open fire lit with scavenged twigs and branches.
The Door itself was amazing and the kids were also fun.
I first tried to do just the kids, but then I stepped back .. and took the whole scene ... The door , the kids, the derelict building. (That is the house they live in.. actually)
I asked them .., Whats cooking ...
They said ..
Sir, Its just rice, actually we are not cooking it, we are just reheating yesterdays rice. (moment of silence)
Sir, we dont have GAS in our house .. Thats why we are here....
(Stupidly I replied ..) Well I didnt has gas in my house either till a few months ago .,. (some form of condolence)
They Asked ... THEN WHAT DID YOU DO !!!!
(I didnt have the heart to tell them) .. (I had three Industrial CNG (Compressed natural gas) cylinders feeding my home all the time and I have back up Electrical Stove too.)
(Silence while I was thinking how to answer)
SIR ,,,, (They said ) would you like to have some too .,,are you hungry ?
Bless these lovely and generous children.. may they always be so generous and innocent
nice story.. what always intrigues me.. is the fact how the photographers take such shots & walk away.. i don't mean to be disrespectful but don't you feel their pain? reading your description of how you have all backup stuff for no gas, means you are quite well off (i mean better than average people living here).. so you tried any act of help may be? I'm sure you must have did I'm not pointing out, its just that whenever i see such art, i always think.. what are we doing as artists to actually help those in need, what most of us do is catch our part of fame from their lives & walk away.. CONGRATULATIONS for this beautiful capture & I love your description of how you felt on hearing their side of the world.. DD is a big thing & to be proud of! PS. if any part of my comment seems rude, apologies, no offense was intended
Awesome picture, thank you for sharing it with us, it makes us realize how lucky we can be!

No Offense has been taken, your observation was valid and you were not the only one to say something on those lines to me.
To perhaps expand my point of view, I have made a Journal Entry .. [link] Please do read it.
Thank You
