It is a small shanty settlement of Afghan Refugees who refuse to stay in the Refugee camps and have illegaly settled right in the heart of The Industrial Sector Of Islamabad. The Authorities came and knocked down the mud houses and send them back to the refugee camps. But they came back and made the mud houses again. The Authorities had again , just bulldozed down half the settlement yesterday.
The Elders of the Community were watching me ..approach the ramshackle site. I did what would have been customary in their home village. I walked upto them .. greeted them, they invited me to sit with them .. I spent half an hour talking to them and took their permission to wander around their settlement.
