Back in the late '60s, the Red Kite was almost extinct in the UK.
A captive breeding programme was set up in Wales, where a few pairs
of wild Kites hung on. Now they are breeding successfully in many
parts of the UK, and the numbers are rising swiftly :#1:
I hope the one I saw has a mate :fingerscrossed:

...Wow, I thought it was an odd photo or a manipulated photo... :faint: ...You saw something "more than a kite"!!

Thanks ... I guess the pure white background does make it look manipulated .. It was an overcast sky .. kind of a dull dirty grey .. I had to play with the "curves" to bring out the contrast of the bird and that turned the background white.

Lordbrocktree is a cute guy ... I think I will have to look him up sometime, he lives in the same city as me.
